Busy background

Avatar-ready cutout

This original example shows the useful outcome: a portrait cutout that can be placed on a new avatar, resume, or social background.

What this does

A cleaner portrait, not a new identity

Clipo removes the visible background around the subject and returns PNG-based results with transparent background pixels. You can use that cutout in another editor to add a consistent color, brand backdrop, team-page layout, or resume design.

Clipo does not verify identity, perform biometric matching, change facial features, or provide face retouching. It is a background-removal workflow, and public profile images should still be reviewed by the person or organization using them.

Portrait edge tips

Details around the face need review

Profile pictures often have softer, more personal edges than product photos. Take a moment to review the cutout before using it on a resume, team profile, or public account.

Hair and loose strands

Fine hair, curls, and motion blur can create uncertain transparent pixels. Use a sharp source photo and inspect the edge before using it as a public avatar.

Glasses and headwear

Transparent lenses, hats, headphones, and veils can mix foreground and background details. Keep contrast around these areas and check the alpha mask when available.

Contrast and clothing

A dark jacket on a dark wall or a white shirt on a white background gives the model less edge information. Higher contrast usually helps the cutout boundary.

From portrait to transparent PNG

Prepare a profile cutout in three steps

  1. 1

    Choose a clear portrait

Use a JPEG, PNG, or single-frame WebP under 10 MB. Good light, a sharp face, and a little space around hair or shoulders usually produce a cleaner cutout.

  2. 2

    Remove and review the edge

Process the photo, then inspect hair, glasses, headwear, clothing, and shoulder edges in the comparison view. Adjust feathering when a softer edge looks more natural.

  3. 3

    Download and place

Download the transparent PNG, then place it on the exact solid color, gradient, resume layout, avatar frame, or brand background you need in another editor.

Upload a portrait

Use the final background elsewhere

Clipo creates a transparent cutout. Add the final square crop, circle crop, solid color, gradient, or brand template in the place where you publish or design the profile image.

Keep consent and context in mind

Use portraits you have the right to edit, and do not publish a person's profile image in a misleading context. Background removal can make an image easier to reuse, so review the final placement before sharing it.
